Ways to monetize your blog
There are several ways to monetize your blog, but what can really put the money in your pocket is a good choice of affiliate programs. If you do everything right, and optimize them correctly, they can become your new best friend and banker.
Affiliate programs can be tricky, so I decided to post a couple of different ways to make it easier on you, from choosing the affiliate to choosing the product.
First, use contextual affiliate ads. Such ads include ad programs like Google’s ad sense program.
These ads are very relevant to what your blog posts are about; therefore, it allows for your readers to feel more “at home??? and will increase the chances of them clicking on one of the ads. Make sure you don’t use affiliates that are completely opposite of what your blog is about. If your blog is about iPods and PDAs don’t talk about dog food products. It’s simple.
Second, good, quality affiliate programs are the key. Do some research. Don’t find companies that have a bad pay ratio, or that don’t pay their affiliates. That’s not good for business, and not good for you. Also, choose high quality products. No one wants to buy a bad product online, or if they can easily get it a store. Get something unique for them.
Finally, the geographical location of your readers is pretty important, since you want the affiliates to be able to ship to your readers. If your readers are all from china, and your affiliate doesn’t sell things internationally, don’t use it.
Bonus Tip: Using tangible products is better, especially during holiday seasons, when people are more into buying tangible products than online ones. This will increase sales and your income.
Some affiliate programs that I would personally recommend are Amazon, Linkshare, Clickbank and CJ.
